Castle Křivoklát
Surrounded by a small & sleepy town, this majestic castle is one of the most famous historical monuments in the Czech Republic. Originally a wooden hunting lodge from the 12th-century, it was rebuilt many times in several architectural styles. Charles IV used it as the Seat of Royal Huntsmen, and later the castle served as a prison for the infamous alchemist Magister Kelly. It is open for tours and contains exhibitions of medieval art and trades.
