Canoe/Kayak on The Sázava River BOOK TOUR

A Few Hours on the Sázava is Fun for the Whole Family

A newly opened stretch of the Sázava River now makes a day trip from Prague more accessible. The services provided by the outfitter are complete, friendly, and convenient. We provide transportation to Český Šternberk, with its impressive castle above the river. From there, we travel by train to Kácov, were we get fully equipped with open kayaks, paddles, life vests, and dry containers. The return trip by open seat Kayak to Český Šternberk takes about 3 to 4 hours, depending on how long you want to stop at one of several riverside restaurants.

This offer is new from 2013, when w
e participated in an sample trip offered to promote this new stretch of the river (see article & photos in Czech). With children as young as 6 years, it was a blast! Our children loved it. For the adults it was also a leisurely retreat from the crowded streets and playgrounds in Prague. Thus, we are happy to offer Guided Kayak Trips along the Kácov to Český Šternkerk stretch of the Sázava River starting in May 2014.

These trips include transportation to and from Český Šternberk, train fare from Český Šternberk to Kácov, and rental of all necessary equipment for the float down river.
For those who have any special dietary requirements, bringing along a picnic lunch is advisable, since riverside refreshment is quite basic (sausages, beer and chips). Boats and equipment will be retrieved by the outfitter from the take out point in Český Šternberk. At the end of the float, it is also possible to visit the castle interiors (optional).
